"You'll Always Be My Baby" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Sara Evans. It was released in August 2006 as the fourth and final single from her album Real Fine Place. The song became a Top 20 hit on the US Country charts. "You'll Always Be My Baby" was included as a track on Evans' 2007 album, Greatest Hits.

Contents

Evans released a gift book, featuring the lyrics of "You'll Always Be My Baby", co-written with songwriters, Tony Martin and Tom Shapiro. It also features pictures of Evans with her three children, and her mother.[1]

Content

The song tells the story of a woman reflecting on how her father and God have loved her always. She connects this to how she intends to raise her son. The first verse addresses the narrator as a child, the second addresses her as a young adult, and the final verse addresses her as a mother with a son.

Evans' father, Jack Evans, sings backing vocals on the song.

Music video

The video for the song showed Evans in an old house, while a father and daughter talked about how she let him down. The father hugs his daughter and dances with her. The next scene showed a young woman and man in a car with Evans standing in front of the car singing about how she regrets a night of passion with a man. In the last scene, Evans is with a man and a little boy (presumably her husband and son), singing about how she will raise her own son. It was directed by Kristin Barlowe.
