Yerunkar (येरुणकर) is a Indian family surname found amongst Maharashtrian Hindus. Yerunkars belong to 96-Kuli Maratha Kshatriya caste in Maharashtra, India.

People with 'Yerunkar' surname have their origins in the Raigad district of Konkan region of Western coast of Maharashtra some haw the history tells that origin is located at Yerane Village (जावऴी) in Satara District. Moreover,there are around 18 villages of Yerunkars in the Konkan region.The alternate surname for Yerunkar is Ghadge(घाडगे).

The forefathers of Yerunkar families took up several military roles since centuries. They have worked under the leadership of the legendary Maratha emperor the Great Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosale in the 17th century in India to conquer Forts of Maharashtra which were then under the control of the Mughal Empire.
