Yalgoo (biogeographic region)

Yalgoo is an interim Australia bioregion located in Western Australia, comprising 5,087,577 hectares (12,571,680 acres).

In the IBRA system it has the code of (YAL), and it has two sub-regions:

  • Edel (YAL01) that is a significant component of the Shark Bay, Western Australia World Heritage area.
  • Tallering sub-region (YAL02)
  • The region is also part of the larger Southwest Australia savanna ecoregion, as classified by the World Wildlife Fund.
