Xinzhai, Mengla County

Xinzhai Village (Chinese: 新寨村) is a small settlement in Manla district, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna prefecture, Yunnan province, China, only 8 km from the border with Laos. Trade across the border is strictly controlled, and foreigners are not allowed to cross into either country at this point. The dirt highway running north-south through Xinzhai features an important Chinese police checkpoint. The only road apart from the highway runs to the border.
