Xie Zhenhua (Chinese: 解振华; born 1949) is a Chinese politician who served as vice-chairman of China's top economic development body, the National Development and Reform Commission.

Biography

Xie Zhenhua was born in Tianjin. He graduated from Tsinghua University with an Engineering Physics degree. He served as vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission from 2007 to 2015.

Xie was appointed head of the State Environmental Protection Administration in 1998, but was forced to resign after the 2005 Jilin chemical plant explosions.

He has been the lead negotiator for China in the last three United Nations Climate Change Conferences held in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Cancun, Mexico, and Durban, South Africa.
