Xestia maculata is an owlet moth species found in North America, where it has been recorded from western Canada and Montana. It inhabits open alpine tundra.

Its wingspan reaches approximately 30 mm. The forewings are black with light grey markings. The hindwings are black. Adults have been recorded on wing in late July. They have been collected on the flowers of Silene acaulis during the day.
