The 1991 World Youth Day was held in 10–15 August 1991 in Jasna Góra in Częstochowa, Poland. It was celebrated in the Pope's native country. The theme can be summarized in the sentences You have received a spirit of sonship and It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. 1.6 million people gathered on the final Mass. Its anthem, Abba Ojcze,was composed by Jan Góra and Jacek Sykulski
