The album peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard 200, and the single "Let the River Run" reached peak positions of No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 11 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart in early 1989.

Simon received three awards, from four nominations, for her song "Let the River Run", becoming the first artist in history to win a Grammy Award, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for a song both written and performed entirely by a single artist.
