It reached #9 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart, #15 on the U.S. R&B chart, #17 in Canada, #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #48 in Australia in 1969. It was featured on their 1969 album, The Age of Aquarius.

The song was produced by Bones Howe and arranged by Bill Holman, Bob Alcivar, and Howe.
