Women's Tales is an ongoing short film series created by fashion brand Miu Miu and launched in 2012 in partnership with the Venice Film Festival. Since an initial launch of four short films, Miu Miu has continued to commission two films a year. Aside from the stipulation that the films use Miu Miu clothing the directors are given carte-blanche to create their films.

The series also works only with women directors, employing some of the most prominent female directors in the world.

History

The first four short films premiered at the 69th Venice International Film Festival and were directed by Zoe Cassavetes, Lucrecia Martel, Giada Colagrande, and Massy Tadjedin.

In February 2013 the fifth film in the series The Door, directed by Ava DuVernay premiered online. The film later was shown at the 70th Venice International Film Festival along with Le Donne della Vucciria from Palestinian actress and director Hiam Abbas.

In 2015 Agnès Varda's film Les 3 Boutons premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
