Wolfgang Gast (14 February 1919 – 8 May 1988) was an Obersturmfuhrer (First Lieutenant) in the Waffen-SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross in July 1944.
Obersturmfuhrer Gast was the commander of the II Battalion, 2nd SS Artillery Regiment, Das Reich, when he was awarded the Knight's Cross. The Cross recognized extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.
