The 5th District of the Wisconsin Senate is located in Southern Wisconsin, and is composed of parts of Milwaukee County, and Waukesha County.

Current elected officials

Leah Vukmir is the senator serving the 5th district. She was first elected in 2010, and we re-elected in 2014. Before serving as a senator, she held an office in the State Assembly, serving the 14th District from 2003 to 2011.

The area of the 5th Senate District contains three State Assembly Districts:

  • The 13th (represented by Rob Hutton)
  • The 14th (represented by Dale P. Kooyenga)
  • The 15th (represented by Joe Sanfelippo)
  • The district is also located mostly within Wisconsin's 5th congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Jim Sensenbrenner.
