The 3rd District of the Wisconsin Senate is located in Southern Wisconsin, and is composed of parts of Milwaukee County.

Current elected officials

Tim Carpenter is the senator currently serving the 3rd district. He has served since 2003, and was re-elected in 2014 to another four-year term. Before serving as a Senator, he held an office in the State Assembly from 1985 to 2003.

The area of the 3rd Senate District contains three State Assembly Districts:

  • The 7th (represented by Daniel Riemer)
  • The 8th (represented by JoCasta Zamarripa)
  • The 9th (represented by Josh Zepnick)
  • The district is also located within Wisconsin's 4th congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Gwen Moore.
