Windsor is a former and future train station in Windsor, California. It is currently served by Sonoma County Transit and Mendocino Transit Authority buses.

History

The original Northwestern Pacific Railroad (NWP) Depot was built in the early 1900s. Increased automobile ownership and highway construction led to a decline of rail travel in Sonoma County, thus leading to disuse of the facility as a passenger terminal. The station was rebuilt in 2008 with the anticipation of future train service. The depot will open as the northern terminus of the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit main line after a further phase of construction.
