History
WilliamMustBeControl'd was involved in music at a young age and hip hop has had a profound influence on his music. At the age of 12, he learned the basics of FL Studios and began to produce shortly after. William has since produced major hit songs that have topped music charts in Africa.
He self-released the instrumental compilation, Foundation, in 2012 which is available on DatPiff.com, which was followed by a single track compilation of beats available for free download on soundcloud.
In February 2014, William attended a Kendrick Lamar concert in Cape Town, South Africa. During which him and a few friends stood at the venue for 12 hours to toss a beats CD onto the stage. Surprisingly, they got Kendrick's attention and hand picked it from the crowd.
Along his musical journey, him and close friend, producer, Nasha Blaque have teamed up on numerous projects producing for headlining artists in Southern-Africa as well as staying true to the art of beat-making by releasing free instrumental compilations online under the collective name PNRMA. Following a series of free releases, during late 2015, WilliamMustBeControl'd and Nasha Blaque hosted Namibia's first beats auction. The event which is a best described as a musical art exhibition, an event where artists, writers and managers can congregate to network, appreciate creative sounds and eventually bid to buy instrumentals. After the extraordinary success of the two events held in October 2015, the producers plan to travel and take this aspect of art appreciation to other urban music music societies all over of the world.
