Hon. Sir William Stanhope KB (1702–72), of Eythrope, Buckinghamshire, was an English politician.

He was born the second son of Philip Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Chesterfield and inherited large estates in Buckinghamshire. He was created a Knight of the Bath in 1725.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of Great Britain for Lostwithiel 26 January – 5 August 1727 and for Buckinghamshire in 1727–1741 and 1747–1768.

He died at Dijon, France in 1772. He had married 3 times: firstly Susanna, the daughter of John Rudge MP of Wheatfield, Oxfordshire, with whom he had a daughter; secondly Elizabeth, the daughter of Sir Ambrose Crowley, MP; and thirdly Anne Hussey, the daughter of Francis Blake Delaval MP.
