William Barton (New Zealand cricketer)

William Edward Barton (1858 – 15 September 1942) was a New Zealand cricketer who played ten first-class matches for West Coast and Auckland in the 1880s.

Born in England, Barton was educated at Winchester College. He migrated to New Zealand as a young man and worked for the Bank of New Zealand, first in Wanganui, then in Kaikoura, then as manager of the Rangiora branch. He remained in Rangiora after he retired.
