William Aubrey (1759 - 1827) was a Welsh engineer who specialized in the design and construction of steam powered machines. He lived and worked in the Tredegar area, and was Superintendent of the steam engines in Tredegar's iron-works. Together with Watkin George (mineral engineer), at Cyfarthfa's works he was responsible for the planning, and erection, of the largest water system of its kind in Europe at that time. He was also an employee of iron-master Samuel Homfray for over forty years. He died in July 1827.
