Wilhelm Durchdenwald (27 June 1914 – 17 August 1942) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Wilhelm Durchdenwald was killed on 17 August 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross on 13 November 1942.
