Wight FM was an internet radio service based on the Isle of Wight which closed in December 2009. It was first launched on 1 February 2009 and initially included high-profile radio DJs such as David Hamilton, Paul Burnett, Mike Read and Howard Pearce among others. Its main sponsorship and form of advertising is the Isle of Wight Gazette. The programmes were mainly all hamfistedly voicetracked apart from the Alex Dyke morning phone-in. Alex was the founder/owner of the Station. He now presents on Radio Solent on Weekday mornings & hosts an ex-Wight FM invention called Bubblegum & Cheese on Saturdays between 11am & 2pm. This ran on Wight FM on Saturday & Sunday mornings with Ed Stewart, in voicetracked form. The station ceased transmission in 2009 for no reason and Wight FM TV never launched.
