Widener is located at 35°1′25″N 90°41′2″W (35.023559, -90.683886).

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 335 people, 111 households, and 81 families residing in the town. The population density was 258.7/km² (663.9/mi²). There were 129 housing units at an average density of 99.6/km² (255.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 31.94% White, 67.16% Black or African American, 0.30% Asian, 0.60% from other races. 2.39% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 111 households out of which 39.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.3% were married couples living together, 22.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.0% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.02 and the average family size was 3.65.
In the town, the population was spread out with 36.7% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 16.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
