Reception

In the UK, "Why Didn't You Call Me" became Gray's third consecutive top forty hit on the UK Singles Chart. The single also peaked at number twenty-five on the Adult Top 40 in the US as well as number twenty-nine on the Top 40 Mainstream chart, but missed the Billboard Hot 100 and only managed to chart on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles at number seven. Nevertheless, it remains her second-biggest hit in the US, Behind "I Try".
