Whitehead s trogon


The Whitehead's trogon (Harpactes whiteheadi) is a species of bird in the family Trogonidae. It is endemic to the island of Borneo. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss. It is named after the British explorer John Whitehead (1860–1899) who collected natural history specimens in Borneo and elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
