White Angolans or Angolans of European descent are Angolan people whose ancestry lies within the continent of Europe, most notably Portugal. It also includes a significant population of White Brazilians with European Ancestry; including are Eastern Europeans, including Russians, Ukrainians, and Poles, who settled Angola when the country was a communist republic. For a long time a significant community of Afrikaners lived in southern Angola, but most left in and after 1975.
Currently, Whites are a minority ethnic group in Angola, accounting for 1% of the country's population. The White population usually speaks Portuguese.
