What's the Future of Business?: Changing the Way Businesses Create Experiences is a marketing and business book by the speaker, digital analyst, and author Brian Solis. The book uses infographics and illustrations as well as text to diagnose the changing landscape of business and the role shared experience will play in a new age of consumerism. Solis studied UX to create what he calls an "analog app," basing the book on a virtual slider that helps readers navigate the contents of the book similar to the way an app works.
Synopsis
What's the Future of Business? has seventeen chapters. Quotations from successful businesspeople, authors, and thinkers introduce each chapter, including Paulo Coelho, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., and James MacGregor Burns.
Infographics and cartoons from graphic artist Hugh MacLeod of GapingVoid are presented throughout to illustrate key points in the text. The book is shaped like a coffee table book, but includes more text than most books of that sort.
In the last chapters, Solis introduces four moments of truth that businesses go through during digital shared experience. These four moments of truth are:
1. Zero moment of truth
2. First moment of truth
3. Second moment of truth
4. Ultimate moment of truth
