Wet N Wild is an indoor water park situated in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. It was the United Kingdom's largest indoor water park when opened in 1993, a title subsequently claimed by Sandcastle Waterpark. The park is situated in the Royal Quays complex, and features numerous slides, a wave machine, and rapids. It was confirmed Wet N Wild would reopen following a takeover by Moirai Capital Investments;

Slides & Facilities

Wet N Wild has several main, large water slides, The Kamikaze which includes an 80-foot drop, The Tornado which includes two slides that snake round each other on which you can race your friends.The Abyss which includes two large drops, The Black Hole, a double tire slide,Calamity Canyon which includes a number of small slides and whirlpools. All slides were supplied by Australian Waterslides and Leisure.

The Black Hole is a 2-Player tyre slide and was one of the most heard of slides at Wet N Wild. There has become many controversial moments where players has abused The Black Hole slide via staying stationary within the tube structures mid flow. These serious issues were dealt with professionally and efficiently.

There are also smaller slides. A lazy river is also an attraction. A small outdoor pool is open during the summer. This pool has picnic benches to the side of it.

Changing Room facilities are mainly situated below the cafe area and includes over 300 lockers and over 20 changing room cubicles both single and double. Baby changing facilities are also available for parents.

Food and drink is served at the Crusoe's Galley café (The Beach Hut Café in 2014) and is situated near the stairs to the pool and admission booth. Food mainly included burgers, chips, snacks such as chocolate bars and crisps. Drinks mainly included water, pop, slush, Coffee and Tea.

2013 Closure

On 16 October 2013 it was announced that Wet 'N' Wild Enterprises, the owners, had entered administration on the 14th October, and thus the park was to close with immediate effect.

2014 Reopening

On 10 May 2014 it was announced that Wet N Wild would be opening in July 2014 after a 1.1 million refurbishment following a takeover by Moirai Capital Investments. This date has since been changed to 4 August 2014. The site is managed by Serco An episode of Geordie Shore will be airing featuring the water park in the upcoming weeks, this was filmed before the closure and £1.1 million refurbishment.
