The Western Financial Place (formerly known as the Cranbrook Recreational Complex) is a 4,264-seat (plus 352 Standing room) arena in Cranbrook, British Columbia. It was built in 2000 and is home to the Kootenay Ice WHL Major Junior ice hockey team. The arena at Western Financial Place hosts the Kootenay Ice hockey team which competes in the Western Hockey League. Western Financial Place also includes a full service restaurant plus express kiosk, a candy shop, a squash/racquetball court, and a swimming pool with a wave pool, sauna, hot tub, and waterslide, and a free outdoor senior's training circuit. Several events and concerts have been held in Western Financial Place like Alice Cooper, Larry the Cable Guy, The Tragically Hip, Dean Brody, Loverboy, Great Big Sea, Barenaked Ladies, Nickelback, April Wine, Bryan Adams, Terri Clark, Bob Dylan, George Canyon, B.B. King, Blue Rodeo, Jason McCoy, Paul Brandt, The Moffats, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, George Jones, Randy Travis, and ZZ Top. There have also been several practices from the Vancouver Canucks, and a large show by the Superdogs, a few sold out monster truck shows, and also a little more than a few Champions of Skating performances and Husky Skate the Nation performances. The Circus Gatti has traveled through. Cirque Sublime performed their show "Adamo."
