Profiles

Westcliff High School for Boys is a selective academy grammar school for boys aged 11 to 18 in Westcliff-on-Sea, near Southend-on-Sea, Essex and surrounding areas. In September 2001 the school was awarded "Beacon" status for its breadth of achievements and quality of work. The school was classed as a "Humanities College" in early 2007 and received a further specialism in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) on 1 April 2009. The school converted to academy status in 2010. As of November 2016 a new sixth-form building has been constructed. Also, the science building has undergone a complete refurbishment, completed in 2017. The laboratories were renewed along with a new design on the outside.
