Wendy McNeil Carter (née Wilkins) is a fictional character from the now-defunct American soap opera, Search for Tomorrow. The part was originated by Andrea McArdle, but Lisa Peluso is the actress most identified with the role.

Wendy was the daughter of Stephanie Wilkins and her ex-husband, Dave Wilkins (Dale Robinette). She arrived in the fictional community of Henderson with her mother. Wendy was used as a pawn to attempt to break up the marriage of Tony Vincente and his wife, Joanne Gardner. However, despite the enmity between her mother and Joanne, Wendy became friends with Jo's niece, Suzi Martin.

A grown-up Wendy had met and fallen in love with struggling artist, Keith McNeil (Craig Augustine) which distressed Stephanie, since she wanted Wendy to marry into wealth, like she had when she married Clay Collins.

She and Keith eventually divorced, and she fell in love with wealthy Warren Carter (Michael Corbett). The only thing wrong with that was he was married to Wendy's best friend, Suzi.

Eventually, Suzi divorced Warren and opened up the way for Wendy to be with Warren. Suzi had a crush on Wendy's half brother, Brian Emerson, but he was married to Warren's equally scheming sister, Kristin, (Susan Scannell). Wendy, despite her differences with her mother, who she thought was rather ambitious and somewhat pushy, loved her very much, and missed her dearly when she was murdered in 1986.
