Braitman came to coaching after 20 years in the film industry. She was the founding Executive Director of IFFCON, a nationally-recognized media organization in San Francisco that facilitated connections between filmmakers, financiers and distributors. During her tenure, she developed strategic partnerships with institutions throughout the U.S., and expanded the organization’s reach into Canada, Asia and Europe. In conjunction with the Discovery Channel and the American Film Institute, she helped launch SilverDocs, a documentary film festival in Washington, D.C.

As Associate Producer of the Emmy-nominated film The Celluloid Closet, Braitman secured a deal for financing and broadcast with German and French television, and co-produced the film, Life Tastes Good, by Philip Kan Gotanda.

Braitman’s essays have appeared in Forbes, The Huffington post, Slate’s Double XX, Tifereret, and the book Singlism by Bella DePaulo. She is the recipient of the prestigious Gerbode Fellowship, awarded to nonprofit executives in recognition of their exceptional work.
