Webroot Internet Security Essentials was an Antivirus, Antispyware, Personal firewall security software, and back-up utility program with additional personal and PC security features. Originally launched on October 21, 2008, Webroot Internet Security Essentials was the first consumer security suite from Webroot.

Webroot Internet Security Essentials has been discontinued. On October 4, 2011, Webroot announced the release of its SecureAnywhere™ line of products. At that time, all existing Essentials licenses were transitioned to Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials. On October 15, 2012, this product was again updated to Webroot SecureAnywhere® Internet Security Plus. The latest version of Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus includes antivirus, antispyware, anti-phishing, personal firewall, password and identity protection for Microsoft Windows and macOS computers, as well as protection for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Criticisms

Reviews have commented on the lack of parental controls included in this security suite as well as the difficulty in configuring the firewall.
