Application integration and development platform

Warewolf is a desktop application development and integration platform that automates processes and replaces coding with drag and drop functions to facilitate development of micro-services.

Platform

As opposed to development of monolithic applications that are hard to separate, microservices are independent components of a service so as to complete individual tasks. Warewolf allows developers to create their microservices in its own Graphical User Interface (GUI) environment as opposed to coding every detail. The platform uses the concept of microservices to allow for more flexibility without breaking the whole application and avoids cascading issues in case one of the services is not functioning properly.

Warewolf enables front-end applications to perform heavy back-end tasks. In the opinion of the Code Project, the platform comes into category of workflow or node-based programming.

The drag-and-drop tools in the platform allow for quick configuring of connections and logic flows while the automated process handles Web services definitions, database calls and taps Windows DLLs or the command line directly. The platform includes a visual debugger which allows the developer to inspect execution streams before packaging for a remote deployment.

Warewolf runs on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, and Windows Server 2008 and 2012. It is also available on a Microsoft Azure virtual machine.
