It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Beleghata (Vidhan Sabha constituency).

The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Satin Sen Sarani, Upendra Chandra Banerjee Road, Sastitala Road and Narkeldanga North Road are to the north. C.I.T. Road and Upendra Banerjee Road are to the east. Dhyan Debi Khanna Road and Motilal Sen Lane are in the south. Sastitala Road, Motilal Sen Lane, Narkeldanga North Road are to the west.
