Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Walter Grasemann (3 July 1917 – 26 November 2007) was a bomber pilot in the German Luftwaffe during World War II and commander of the fighter-bomber wing Aufklarungsgeschwader 51 of the German Air Force. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

Grasemann was asked to testify in the aftermaths of the 1961 F-84 Thunderstreak incident.
