Waiting for Daylight (song)

Background

Plans were originally announced for "Waiting for Daylight" to be released as the album's third single, after a performance of the song at a concert in Oslo to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake in January 2010. However, a post on the group's official Facebook page revealed that the group decided to release "In Love and I Hate It" as the album's third single instead. Thus, "Waiting for Daylight" became the album's fourth single, and was released via the iTunes Store on 18 March 2011, a day prior to the release of the music video. On 24 March 2011, the single entered and peaked at number five on the Norwegian Singles Chart. The version released as a single is nearly two minutes shorter, removing the instrumental section at the end of the song.

Music video

The music video for "Waiting for Daylight" became the first official A1 music video in nine years, following the release of "Make it Good" in 2002. The music video was uploaded to A1's official YouTube account on 19 March 2011, at a total length of five minutes and forty-four seconds. The video tells the story of a feud between rival communities in native Norway. The band, along with two session musicians, are seen playing the song on top of a snowy mountain, whilst footage of the feud is intertwinned. The video begins with a monologue from band member Christian Ingebrigtsen, setting the scene for the video. The music video has not received airplay in the United Kingdom.
