WXYZ UAV is a Chinese UAV developed by Wuxi No.1 Senior High School (WXYZ, 无锡市第一中学), and has entered service in China for aerial cinematography, photography, and survey missions.

Quadcopter

WXYZ UAV is a quadcopter developed by WXYZ student Mr. Zhang Zhi-Yuan (张致远), and it is a quadcopter with four legs as landing gear. The quadcopter does not require specialized ground control modules, but instead, it is controlled by a laptop. The intention to develop such an UAV is rooted in the problem common to post disaster relief efforts, when rescue crew could not reach victims in time because the road condition has changed dramatically after being hit with natural disasters. Mr. Zhang developed the quadcopter as a low cost UAV to be deployed by rescue crew to detect conditions/situations ahead of the crew to provide better situation awareness within five kilometers range in disaster relief efforts. The existence of WXYZ quadcopter was revealed for the first time when it made its public debut in August 2013 at the 28th All China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (第28届全国青少年科技创新大赛) held in Nanjing International Exhibition Center (南京国际展览中心) in Nanjing, when it won the first place award.
