History
The 96.1 frequency was the original FM home in Jacksonville for Beautiful Music station WKTZ, now on the noncommercial FM band. It changed call letters to WLCS-FM on October 1, 1985, at which time the WKTZ call letters and format moved to Jacksonville station WFAM. On June 21, 1987, WLCS changed its call sign to the current WEJZ with a soft adult contemporary format. In January 2015, WEJZ dropped the "Lite" in their name phasing out most of the soft rock in favor of music from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and current hits adopting their current adult contemporary format as "96.1 WEJZ". "96.1 WEJZ" is also home to the syndicated "Delilah" radio show.
