Visioncon is an annual media arts and gaming convention founded by the Visionary Guild, a Wargaming club located in Springfield, MO. The convention is traditionally held in February. The first Visioncon was held February 14–16, 1992 at the, now defunct, Quality Inn North in Springfield, MO. Due to poor management and financial troubles the convention nearly closed its doors after a disastrous 2007 convention. No convention took place in 2008, but in 2009 new management was able to salvage the foundering organization. In 2014 the convention was forced to move due to the Howard Johnson Hotel and Convention Center, which housed the convention, closing its doors. The president of the convention decided to move it to the Radisson Hotel in Branson, MO without consulting the convention's board of directors causing multiple convention staff members and volunteers to abandon it. It is currently being held at The Hilton on Branson Landing and, according to convention officials, boasted an attendance of over 2,000 people in 2016.
