As of 1 January 2017, Colombian citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 107 countries and territories, ranking the Colombian passport 50th in terms of travel freedom (tied with Montenegrin passport) according to the Henley visa restrictions index.
Citizens of Colombia do not need a passport when traveling to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. For these countries, they may use just their domestic identification cards.
