History

Virilion was established in 1997 as Mindshare Internet Campaigns. The name changed to Mindshare Interactive Campaigns as digital and online technologies became more interactive. The firm adopted the name Virilion in 2007. Virilion acquired Promotional Commerce, an e-commerce strategy company, in 2005, and RampWeb, an accessibility consulting firm, in 2006. In 2007, the company received an investment from Enhanced Capital Partners, a venture capital firm that focuses on mid-to-late-stage investments.

Present

Virilion focuses on developing digital campaigns and social media strategies for a client base of non-profit organizations, government entities, corporations, and trade associations. Services include website development, brand development and reinforcement, online campaign strategy and management, reputation and crisis management, and audience identification and outreach.

The firm serves clients in a variety of sectors including health and health care; energy and the environment; media and sports marketing; food, nutrition and agriculture; and public affairs and advocacy.

Dan Solomon joined Virilion in 2000 as CEO and serves as chairman of the board of directors as well. Huard G. Smith serves as president. Lynn Thomlison, formerly the creative director at CBS College Sports, is the firm’s creative director.
