Vila do João ("John's Village") is one of Complexo da Maré's favelas in Rio de Janeiro city.
Housing estate created by the Projeto Rio, from Brazilian Federal Government in 1982, with 1,500 households designed to house the people who lived on stilts in Baixa do Sapateiro. His name is a tribute to the then President of the Republic, João Baptista de Oliveira Figueiredo (1979–1985).
It currently has about 4,000 households and a population estimated at nearly 12,000 people.
