Vijaya Prasanna Malalasekera (born 8 August 1945) is a Sri Lankan lawyer, corporate executive and sportsman. Chairman, Bogala Graphite and Asian Cotton Mills, he was the Chairman, Interim Committee for the Board of Control for Cricket and Director of Corporate and Legal Affairs of the Ceylon Tobacco Company a subsidiarity of British American Tobacco.

Life and career

After attending Royal College, Colombo, he studied at Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge University, where he won blues for cricket. Having gained his MA, he was called to the bar as a Barrister at the Inner Temple. On returning to Sri Lanka he became an advocate and began his private practice.

Joining the Ceylon Tobacco Company as a Senior Management Trainee in 1973, he became its Company Secretary in 1984. In 1995 he was appointed to its Board of Directors as Director of Corporate and Legal Affairs, holding the post until his retirement apron which he remained on the Board as a non-executive Director.

Following a major crisis, he was appointed as Chairman of the Interim Committee for the Board of Control for Cricket by the President of the country. At present he is the Chairman of Bogala Graphite and Asian Cotton Mills as well as Director of Carson Cumberbatch & Company and Brown & Company.
