Vigour is a venture-backed, privately held company that provides a web-based multiscreen framework to media companies. The company was founded in 2012 by friends Jim de Beer, Ramon Duivenvoorden and Marcus Besjes.

History

The founders were invited to work on an innovation project for the Dutch telecom provider KPN. During the project they had to build a prototype that would allow users to watch video content from any screen in the household. When they realised that it would be very difficult to create a high performance user interface across all those platforms they started building their own framework to overcome the problems they encountered.

The Product

Vigour developed a technology that enables user interfaces to run on any platform (phone, tablet, web, TV, consoles etc.) by only using web technologies. The Vigour Video product enables media companies to add a multiscreen layer on their existing videoservice and the roles of different connected devices change based on the context of the user.
