Veselý Žďár is a village and municipality (obec) in Havlíčkův Brod District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 8.7 square kilometres (3.4 sq mi), and has a population of 499 (as at 3 July 2006).
Veselý Žďár lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Havlíčkův Brod, 28 km (17 mi) north of Jihlava, and 94 km (58 mi) south-east of Prague.
