Venus and Adonis is a c. 1554 painting by Titian or his workshop. It appears to be a copy of the painting in the Prado.
Provenance
It was one of thirty-eight paintings from John Julius Angerstein's collection acquired by the British government in 1824 for £57,000 which formed the original nucleus of the National Gallery, where it now hangs.
