Vango is an online marketplace built for independent artists to sell their original artwork and limited edition prints to experienced and first-time art buyers. Vango aims to open up the original artwork and limited edition print market to all people in the wall decor industry and to make it possible for artists to earn a great living creating art. Vango is founded and led by CEO, Ethan Appleby along with co-founders Win Raguini and Brandon Flayler. Vango was a part of 500 Startups Batch 12 run by Dave McClure in San Francisco, California. The company is funded by many investors including Foundry Group, 500 Startups, Richard A. Clark and many more.

Contents

Vango has a unique pricing structure that simplifies the art buying process. Each artist start selling at Tier 1; $100, $250 price point and are able to unlock higher tiers the more they sell; Tier 2 - $500, $750; Tier 3 - $1000, $1500. In addition to pricing, the company has built recommendation tools around user interactions and mobile camera technology, allowing users to find art based on the color scheme of their room, as well as virtually ‘hang’ the art on their wall through the iPad and iPhone applications.

Vango was selected as one of six companies to be profiled on the SyFy docu-series, ‘The Bazillion Dollar Club’ which is scheduled to air in Fall 2015.
