Valerie "Val" Brelinski is an American fiction writer.
Biography
Val Brelinski was born in Nampa, Idaho. She attended Northwest Nazarene University and the University of Virginia where she received an MFA in 2002. Her fiction writing has been published in Boise Weekly, The English Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, and others. Her short story "Team Player" that appeared in the Chronicle can be found here. Her novel The Girl Who Slept with God will be released in 2015.
Brelinski was a Stegner Fellow of Fiction at Stanford University from 2003 to 2005, and held a Jones Lectureship from 2005 to 2007. While at Stanford, she worked on a novel and a series of short stories. She currently teaches creative writing in the Stanford Continuing Studies Program.
