VADS Berhad (BPO) is one of Malaysia's leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Managed ICT Service provider. Currently, the company is serving more than 500 medium to large businesses across industries. As of August 2011, the company had more than 5,000 employees across 2 countries.

History

VADS Berhad was incorporated on 29 November 1990 and formed in 1991 as a joint venture between Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and IBM Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (IBM) to take advantage of the convergence of IT and Telecommunications Industry. The company officially started the operations the following year (1992). Two other partners joined in the venture in 1993 and 1995, namely Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) respectively. The company started its operations with Managed Network Services, Contact Centre Services (which has now evolved to Business Process Outsourcing) and Systems Integration Services.

VADS was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (then Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) (Bursa Securities) on 7 August 2001, making it the first TM Subsidiary to be listed. It was transferred to the Main Board of Bursa Securities on 7 March 2005).

On 22 September 2008, TM VADS holding company, proposed the privatisation of the company via a selective capital reduction and repayment exercise under Section 64 of the Companies Act, 1965 (SCR). With the completion of the SCR on 12 February 2009, VADS became a wholly owned subsidiary of TM. On 19 February 2009, VADS was officially de-listed from the Official List of Bursa Securities.
