The Urban Research Centre was established in 2006 as an official university research centre at the University of Western Sydney, NSW, Australia. The Urban Research Centre engages in research relating to urban growth, infrastructure development, housing issues, economic development pathways, sustainability and governance. Current projects include work on corporate power, urban design, innovation, spatial indicators and critical insights into green- and brown-fields developments.
The Urban Research Centre's research themes are infrastructure, spatial economic analysis, urban performance indicators, mega-urban projects, sustainable cities, and innovation and employment.
