Upsilon Piscium (Upsilon Psc, υ Piscium, υ Psc) is a star approximately 310 light years away from Earth, in the constellation Pisces. It is bluish-white star of the spectral type A3V. It has a surface temperature of 7,500 to 11,000 kelvins, and is approximately the same size as the Sun, yet is much hotter and brighter. It has a rotational velocity of 93 kilometers per second at the equator.

Naming

In Chinese, 奎宿 (Kuí Sù), meaning Legs (asterism), refers to an asterism consisting of refers to an asterism consisting of υ Piscium, η Andromedae, 65 Piscium, ζ Andromedae, ε Andromedae, δ Andromedae, π Andromedae, ν Andromedae, μ Andromedae, β Andromedae, σ Piscium, τ Piscium, 91 Piscium, φ Piscium, χ Piscium and ψ¹ Piscium. Consequently, υ Piscium itself is known as 奎宿十三 (Kuí Sù shí sān, English: the Thirteenth Star of Legs.)
